EVENT DESCRIPTION
In the framework of WASCAL 10 years celebration, the GSP-ICC has organized on Saturday 13th of August 2022 a tree planting activity in the surroundings of the locality of Saponé in Burkina Faso.
EVENT CONTENT
The activity has gathered the staff of ED-ICC and students of batch 3 as well as several other institutions (see Table 1 below), involving about 60 people. From this reforestation, several species of plants have been planted (Citrus limon, Psidium guajava, Mangifera indica, Annona muricata, etc.). The Director of EDICC has decided to setup a monitoring plan of this reforestation of which success will contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation by providing ecosystem services, such as carbon sequestration, as well as goods for local population. This kind of activity will contribute to improve the visibility and the integration of the GSP-ICC in Burkina Faso.
