• develop a model;
• transcript a model in a program.

After completing this module, students should be able to:

• develop model for various systems;
• use programming language for models transcription.

• Models structures: basic Model Structures, Expanded Model Structures.
• Level of Abstraction and rigor of a model.
• Model Specifications and Calibrations.
• Description of diagrams.
• Goodness of models/diagrams.
• Steps in model development.
• Inverse theory and statistical
• Numerical methods: finite differences method, finite elements method, finite volumes method…
• Practical exercises: developing models (Matlab, excel, R STAT, Shell linux…), application to hydrological systems, air pollution…
